What drinks do you serve at your wedding?
What drinks do you serve at your wedding party? For most people, a wedding celebration isn’t complete without drinks. It’s quite rare for no alcoholic beverages to be served during a wedding. The question is whether you choose to let your guests drink unlimited, or if you’ll stick to lighter drinks. Will you offer just beer and wine, or also stronger spirits? What will you serve on your big day?
Welcome drink for the guests
Besides the drinks served during the party, it can be a lovely gesture to welcome your guests with a special drink. How about a glass of bubbly or a delicious cocktail?

Beer and wine
Beer and wine are almost always available at wedding parties – they’re basically a must. How this works depends on the wedding venue. Some venues charge per drink. They keep track of how many beers and wines are served, and you get the bill afterward. But often, you can also “buy off” the drinks: you pay a fixed amount per guest, and everyone can drink as much as they like. This way, you know in advance what it will cost. Super convenient – no shocking bill at the end of the night. However, this only makes sense if you expect your guests to drink a lot; otherwise, it’s not the most cost-effective option.
Champagne
It’s traditional to serve a round of champagne on your wedding day. With bubbles, you celebrate that you’re officially married! Usually, this is done right after the ceremony. But you can also do a special champagne toast during the party or at the reception. Some couples skip the official toast but have it available for those who’d like it. Champagne is often a more expensive choice, so make sure to discuss this in advance. Some venues also allow you to bring your own drinks, which can save you a lot. That way, you can order good champagne at a better price and still treat your guests to something special.
