Tips to lose those last few kilos before your wedding!

That little roll peeking over your waistband or the love handles that are becoming a bit more noticeable – of course, you don’t want to worry about those on your wedding day. So how can you shed those final pounds in the short time left before the big day? We’ve gathered some slimming tips for you!

Set a goal
To achieve a good and realistic result, it’s important to set a practical goal. And no – aiming to lose 5 kilos in a week doesn’t count. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself – do you even need to lose weight? Your fiancé proposed to you for a reason – you’re beautiful just as you are!

Also, think about your dress before starting a diet – have you already bought it? If so, talk to the bridal shop about how much weight you can lose and still fit into the dress. Never buy a dress that’s too small, even if it seems like a great motivation. A too-tight dress only brings stress – and that’s the last thing you need in this exciting time leading up to your wedding.

No crash diets

Sure, it sounds tempting – losing loads of weight in a short time by barely eating at all… Basically starving yourself. Yes, you might lose weight quickly, but in the long run, it’s not good for you. Your body won’t get enough nutrients, will switch to energy-saving mode, and start breaking down muscle (which burns lots of energy) for fuel. So you’ll lose muscle mass – not fat.

So how do you lose weight responsibly? Here are our tips:

Keep eating – Starving yourself won’t help! Eat smaller portions, lots of fruit, and low-fat snacks.

Know the difference between hunger and cravings – Before grabbing that cookie, ask yourself: Am I really hungry, or do I just feel like eating something tasty?

Smart grocery shopping – Every tempting snack at home is something you bought. Make a shopping list and stick to it! If you don’t buy that bag of chips, you won’t be tempted to eat it.

Don’t eat too late – Try to finish your last meal before 8 PM so your body has time to digest. If you’re truly hungry after that (not just craving), have something healthy – not chips.

Stay active – Find something you enjoy, like walking or cycling. No need to train for a marathon – just make sure you keep moving.

Let’s go!
You’ve read the tips – now it’s your turn to get started! The first step might be tough, but once you find your rhythm, it gets easier. It takes discipline (especially in the beginning) to stick to your workouts and watch your diet, but remember why you’re doing this. And don’t forget to enjoy the good things along the way – after all, you’re planning the wedding of your dreams!
