Catering for your wedding

Choosing the right catering for your wedding is of course a tough decision. Below you can read more about choosing a suitable catering company and we will tell you more about the different catering options.

Location and theme

When choosing your budget, take into account the location where you are getting married. If you’re having a very fancy wedding, a luxurious meal will fit in perfectly. If you’re having a bohemian-themed wedding, a lighter meal like small appetizers would be a better choice. It’s fun to create a mood board in advance to get some ideas.

Budget for the catering

First of all, it’s important to know how many guests will be attending your wedding and how many of them will be eating. You should also consider children and allergies, so ask your guests to provide this information. The catering company can take this into account.

Based on the number of guests, you can determine your budget. Catering costs are one of the biggest expenses for a wedding. A sit-down dinner, for example, is more expensive than a buffet. Consider whether you prefer a more luxurious dinner with a smaller group or if you want to accommodate more guests.

Once you’ve made a selection of a few catering companies and chosen the style of your wedding dinner, you’ll need to select the dishes. This can be done through a tasting session. Several dishes are prepared in small portions so you can taste a little bit of everything. You can also ask any questions, for example, whether you are allowed to serve drinks yourself or decorate the tables yourself. Ultimately, choose the catering that fits you best. The cost of the tasting is usually deducted from your final bill if you decide to go with that catering company for the dinner.

Catering Menus

Have you chosen a fixed menu? Then have the menu printed in the same style as your wedding invitations. Guests can take a look at the menu again, and it will also look lovely. You can also give guests the option to choose between fish, meat, or vegetarian dishes.

Food trucks

Food trucks are the current trend in food and catering. You can bring in a food truck at any time of the day, for example, during the break in the ceremony. A food truck immediately adds a fun and casual atmosphere. Everything can be arranged, from delicious snacks and drinks to full meals. Choose a single food truck or opt for multiple trucks offering different dishes. Guests can choose what they want to eat and from which stall.

Food trucks come in different price ranges. Discuss with the rental company whether they provide staff or if you need to arrange this yourself.

Dessert

Dessert is definitely the favorite part of the meal, and there are several options to choose from. Do you want guests to be able to pick whatever they like? Then various tiered trays with mini cakes and other sweets can be placed on the tables. Or, you could opt for a dessert buffet with a selection of delicious cakes. A fixed dessert that is served to guests is, of course, also a good option.
